Cycling Trip at Lake Constance

Welcome to Lake Constance! It is best to plan your journey so that you have enough time to stroll through the well-preserved old town of Constance. In the oldest district of Niederburg, medieval houses are lined up close together and are home to some quaint wine taverns. Whether it's the cathedral, the council building or the harbor - there's plenty to see in Constance!

Today you will cycle around the southern arm of Lake Constance, the Untersee. On your first stage, you cycle along the Lake Constance cycle path along the Gnadensee, from Constance to the old imperial town of Radolfzell. This stage takes you along good paths via the Höri peninsula to Stein am Rhein with its beautiful, frescoed houses, where you can take an excellent lunch break on the lakeside promenade. The route continues along the southern shore of Lake Constance through well-kept Swiss fishing villages back to Constance.

Today's cycle tour is less sporty than the first cycle stage around Untersee. Firstly, it is shorter and secondly, the Lake Constance cycle route around the Upper Lake is flatter. From Constance-Staad, you and your bike take the car ferry to Meersburg with its ancient Merovingian castle. You cycle through vineyards to the Zeppelin town of Friedrichshafen, where the museum and harbor are well worth a visit. The cycle tour continues through orchards to the Bavarian island town of Lindau. With a view of the Alps, you cycle around the Bay of Bregenz and finish your cycle tour today in the festival town of Bregenz.

Your cycle tour starts with the section through the Rhine delta, an important nature reserve. The Lake Constance cycle path then leads you mostly directly along the lake through apple orchards and the pretty towns of Arbon and Romanshorn back to Constance. Your short tour around Lake Constance by bike ends here. Before you collect your luggage in the early evening and set off on your return journey, you should definitely enjoy an ice cream at the harbor and let your gaze wander over the lake.
