Autumn cycling holidays have long been a hidden gem among our guests – and for good reason! The scorching heat of summer is gone, nature glows in warm autumn colors, and the cycle paths are noticeably quieter. In September and October, Southern Germany offers perfect conditions for a relaxed bike holiday: crisp air, pleasant temperatures, and plenty of quiet spots to rest.
If you would like to soak up some more sunshine or take a refreshing dip in the sea, Southern Europe is the perfect choice. In regions where cycling in the peak of summer can be challenging due to the heat, you’ll find the most enjoyable conditions for your cycling holiday in autumn.
Our tip: Our tours to Madeira, Sardinia and the Costa Blanca are not only wonderful autumn cycling holidays – they are also available throughout the entire winter season. From November to February, you can escape the cold and enjoy carefree cycling in mild climates.

On the otherwise busy Lake Constance Cycle Path, you’ll mainly meet locals in autumn and can enjoy the route in peace. The Moselle, however, comes alive from September onwards: the grape harvest draws visitors to regional festivals and wine tastings. On our Wine Tour along the Moselle, you’ll cycle from one vineyard to the next, experiencing wine, landscapes and culture up close.
Southern Europe also offers excellent conditions for autumn cycling holidays. Once the hot summer and tourist crowds have passed, countries such as Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Southern Italy invite you to explore at a more relaxed pace. Particularly popular are our bike and boat trips in Croatia: without a long journey, you can enjoy a true summer holiday along the coast and islands – even while temperatures back in Germany are already turning cooler.
