Your cycle tour on the nature park cycle path through the northern Black Forest starts in a relaxed manner in Freudenstadt. After checking into your hotel, you have the opportunity to discover the town - including Germany's largest market square. Numerous cafés and restaurants invite you to enjoy regional specialties along the surrounding arcades.
The day starts with a few meters of elevation gain through a magical forest backdrop before you cycle into the Kinzig valley - the home of the famous Bollenhut. Alpirsbach is well worth a stop: the imposing monastery complex and a jug of the famous beer invite you to take a break. The route then continues on the well-developed Kinzigtal cycle path to Wolfach or Hausach. In Wolfach, the Dorotheenhütte offers insights into the traditional art of glassmaking - and if you want, you can lend a hand yourself.
Your cycle tour on the nature park cycle path in the northern Black Forest continues through the charming valley landscape of the Kinzig. Haslach, whose history dates back to Roman times, is worth a short stop. The route continues through the charming towns of Steinach, Biberach and Gengenbach. Cycle along picturesque Ortenau vineyards to Offenburg, where a detour to the old town is recommended. To the north of the city, you will finally reach your overnight destination: Durbach or Appenweier - both known for their winegrowing and special flair.
Today, the route takes you over the gentle hills of the foothills in the Central/North Black Forest Nature Park to Baden-Baden. The elegant spa town, once known as the summer capital of Europe, still exudes international flair. A visit to the Frieder Burda Museum is well worthwhile - it is one of the most important private collections of modern and contemporary art in Europe. Then continue to the former royal seat of Rastatt, where you can end the day surrounded by impressive baroque buildings at your leisure
In contrast to the previous stages, today's route has an almost urban flair. You cycle from Rastatt to Karlsruhe, a city with a unique fan-shaped layout. In the center is Karlsruhe Palace with its spacious park. Those interested in culture are drawn to the Baden State Museum, which is housed in the palace. Once you have left Karlsruhe behind you, you will soon reach Ettlingen. In the evening, it is worth taking a stroll through the historic old town - with its charming half-timbered houses and townhouses, it is an atmospheric end to the day.
This stage of your cycle tour on the nature park cycle path in the northern Black Forest takes you from Ettlingen back into the Black Forest. In Neuenbürg you meet the River Enz, which you follow upstream. Through tranquil forests and accompanied by the gentle sound of the water, you cycle in the footsteps of the Enz valley raftsmen. At the Calmbach Rafting Museum, you will gain fascinating insights into the region's traditional forestry and timber industry. Your destination for the day is Bad Wildbad, known for its relaxing thermal baths. Whether in the historic Palais Thermal or the modern Vital Therme - it's a wonderful place to recharge your batteries.
The day begins with a ride on the Sommerbergbahn. Once you reach the top of the high plateau, it's worth leaving your bike behind for a moment. The treetop path and the spectacularly curved suspension bridge WildLine open up impressive views of the rolling hills and deep valleys of the northern Black Forest. The route then continues along the Black Forest Panorama Cycle Path - past the mystical high moor landscape of Kaltenbronn - to Freudenstadt.
