Show more Show lessDay 1: Individual arrival in Passau, Passau – Engelhartszell (ship)
After your arrival, take a stroll through the narrow streets of Passau's old town or visit the world's largest cathedral organ in St. Stephen's Cathedral. Your ship is ready in the harbor of the Three Rivers City and the crew will welcome you with a cocktail from 16:30. After moving into your cabins, dinner will be served on board. On the ship you will cover the short distance to Engelhartszell.
Day 2: Engelhartszell – Aschach, approx. 40 km, Aschach – Devin (boat)
Today is the first bike tour. You will cycle leisurely from Engelhartszell through the wildly romantic Schlögener Schlinge. Here the Danube winds around a huge granite hill on which the romantic ruin Haichenbach is enthroned. Always along the river you continue to the market town of Aschach. Here you get back on board to head towards Devin.
Day 3: Devin – Bratislava, approx. 45 km, Bratislava – Budapest (boat)
From Devin you will first make an excursion to the imposing Hof Castle. The narrow cycle path leads along the former Iron Curtain. The castle includes a magnificent terrace garden, which is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe. You will cycle through untouched nature and soon you will be in the vibrant metropolis of Bratislava. If you wish, you can take part in a city tour. This will take you, among other things, to Castle Hill, from where you will have a fantastic view of the city. Of course, a tour of the historic city center is not to be missed. On board your ship you will continue to Budapest.
Day 4: Rest day or excursion to Szentendre, approx. 55 km, Budapest – Danube Bend (boat)
Even entering the operetta city of Budapest is an experience, as many sights can be seen from on board. Take your time to explore the Hungarian capital. A nice alternative is a bike trip to the enchanting artist town of Szentendre. In the evening we recommend a city tour by bus through the illuminated Budapest. A special highlight is also the folklore show you can watch. Immerse yourself in Hungarian traditions with music, dances and regional delicacies.
Day 5: Danube Bend – Esztergom, about 45 km, Esztergom – Vienna (ship)
Today you will cycle through picturesque and gently rolling landscapes typical of the Hungarian Wachau. Experience real Hungarian joie de vivre and Puszta romance on this bike tour. Esztergom is one of the oldest cities and former capital of Hungary. Here also stands the largest classical basilica in the country, perched high on the castle hill.
Day 6: Rest day Vienna, Vienna – Wachau (ship)
In Vienna you have the option to participate in a city tour by bike or bus (duration approx. 3 hours, not included). Since the ship remains in place all day, you have time for extensive exploration. The Hofburg was the center of the vast empire of the Habsburg emperors until the beginning of the 20th century. A visit is definitely not to be missed! Climb into the Ferris wheel in the Vienna Prater and view the city from a height of almost 65 meters. For refreshment, enjoy a delicious Sacher cake in one of the numerous coffee houses. Did you know that at the famous court confectioner Demel, even after 200 years, only female staff sells and serves?
Day 7: Wachau / Krems – Melk, approx. 40 km, Melk – Passau (boat)
Today the special landscape of the Wachau awaits you. Cycle through the rolling hills and dreamy villages. The old wine road leads past countless historic buildings and castles, but also charming wine taverns. Treat yourself to a break and taste the delicious wine. At the stage destination, Melk Abbey awaits you, one of the most important baroque buildings in Austria. In the evening we invite you to the gala dinner on the ship, framed by a small show program.
Day 8: Individual departure or extension
Once again you can enjoy the morning silence of the Danube valley before you reach Passau around 10:00 and then disembark. In the last few days you have experienced quite a few impressions on your journey by bike and ship from Passau to Budapest, which you will remember for a long time. If you want to extend your stay in Passau, we will gladly book additional nights in a 4* hotel for you.
