Day 1: Individual arrival in Nantes

Welcome to Nantes, the charming city on the banks of the Loire and the starting point of your biketour on the Atlantic Coast. Wander through historic districts with magnificent houses, visit the impressive cathedral, and explore the Château des Ducs de Bretagne. Immerse yourself in the art, history, and lively atmosphere of this riverside city.

Day 2: Nantes – Saint-Brévin les Pins, approx. 65 km

Your cycle tour along the Atlantic begins along quiet paths through the peaceful landscape of the Loire estuary. Sweeping views await you between salt marshes and rolling countryside before you enjoy the refreshing scent of the sea in Saint-Brévin les Pins. Stroll along the beach, breathe in the salty sea air and let the Atlantic charm of your first day linger.

Day 3: Saint-Brévin les Pins – Bouin, approx. 50 km

Today you’ll reach the “oyster capital” of the Vendée, a former island now protected by dikes and polders. Watch the salt marsh workers at Port du Bec and enjoy fresh oysters with a view of Noirmoutier Island. This stage of your biketour perfectly blends nature, gastronomy, and authentic coastal scenery.

Day 4: Bouin –  Saint Jean de Monts, approx. 55 km

Cycle through dunes, forests, past charming 20th-century villas to reach the seaside resort of Saint Jean de Monts. The fine sandy beach invites a romantic walk at sunset. Enjoy the unique charm of the coastal town and soak up the lively beach atmosphere – a memorable highlight of your biketour on the Atlantic Coast.

Day 5: Saint Jean de Monts – Les Sables d'Olonne, approx. 55 km

Between Sion and St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, ride past the picturesque rocks of ‘Cinq-Pinteaux’ and ‘Trou du Diable’. Discover the old fishing port of St-Hilaire-de-Riez before arriving in Les Sables d’Olonne, famous as the start town of the Vendée Globe race. Taste local specialties like the renowned “Sablaise” sardine and soak in the lively maritime atmosphere.

Day 6: Les Sables d'Olonne –  La Tranche sur Mer, approx. 50 km

This stage takes you along the coast from beaches to rocky coves, with breathtaking contrasts along the Payré estuary. Pause for a swim on one of the beautiful beaches, such as Conche Beach. Then continue on to La Tranche sur Mer, a vibrant seaside resort known for its water sports opportunities and relaxed coastal charm.

Day 7: La Tranche sur Mer – La Rochelle, approx. 70 km

Cross the dry areas of the "Marais Poitevin" and follow the green cycle paths ("Voies Vertes") to the charming village of Marans with its surprising glass and metal bell tower. Continue to La Rochelle, where the historic towers and remains of the old city walls welcome you. Let yourself be enchanted by the warm light of the old town - a perfect end to your cycle tour along the Atlantic.

Day 8: Individual departure

Your cycle tour along the Atlantic ends today. We would be happy to extend your stay with an extra night in La Rochelle.
