You’ll be raving about your bike-and-boat trip in Croatia for a long time to come: You’ll cruise across the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean on your motor sailboat to the islands of Krk, Rab, and Cres in Kvarner Bay. Once ashore, you’ll cycle along hidden paths to secluded coves, explore the historic centers of ancient port towns, wave to grazing sheep as you pass by, and relax under the shade of pine forests. Back on board, cool off with a quick dip in the waves—the water is so clear that you can see the seabed with the naked eye. You’ll enjoy the last rays of the Mediterranean sun on the sun deck, which isn’t replaced by the twinkling of the stars until late in the evening.
You can choose which category you’d like to book for the Bike and Boat tour in Croatia: In the Comfort category, you’ll travel on the motor sailers MS Planka and MS Kazimir. On these three charming ships, you’ll be accommodated in relatively small cabins.
In the Premium category, the motor-sailer MS Maček will take you safely and comfortably through Kvarner Bay.
Welcome to your bike-and-boat vacation in Croatia! Boarding takes place in Rijeka from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Afterward, we’ll weigh anchor and set sail for Haludovo on the island of Krk, one of the largest islands in northern Croatia. This is where the first leg of our bike ride begins, taking us to the port of Krk, where we’ll spend the night. The port of embarkation for air travelers depends on flight schedules. If you book a flight and transfer with arrival at Rijeka Airport by 11:30 a.m., embarkation in Rijeka is guaranteed; for later arrivals, embarkation will take place at the first port of call.
After breakfast, you will cycle from Krk via Dobrinj to Vrbnik. This old town is situated on a cliff on the east coast – perfect for souvenir photos! The area is known for its golden-colored Zlahtina, a wine from the surrounding vineyards. Refreshed, you will cycle uphill to the highest point of today's stage. From here, you will have a magnificent view of the Baška Valley, which stretches to the southern end of the island. You will then cycle downhill to the port town of Krk, where your ship will be waiting for you. You will spend the night in the port of Krk.
A short boat trip takes you to Lopar, on the northern tip of the island of Rab. You then cycle across the island, whose landscape is very diverse: the side facing the Adriatic Sea is lush and wooded, while the side facing the Croatian mainland is very arid. The most beautiful town on the island is Rab, your destination, which you will reach around midday. Charming turrets adorn the old town. After lunch on board, you will explore the 1,400-hectare Kalifront forest park with its 1,000-year-old holm oaks. After a guided tour of Rab, you can enjoy dinner in one of the local restaurants.
Today, you will explore the island of Pag by bike and boat. First, you will sail from Rab to the northernmost tip of Lun, then hop on your bike. Olive trees, lush meadows, and rocky landscapes will accompany you to Novalja, where you will take a break. Afterward, you will cycle on to Mandre to board the boat. After lunch on board, the journey continues to a bay where you can enjoy a long swim. The captain will then set course for the islands of Olib or Ilovik for the night. In the evening, the captain's dinner will be served on board.
The day begins in a relaxed manner with a four-hour crossing to the next island: Lošinj. Enjoy the view of Croatia from the water! Once you arrive, cycle through deep green pine forests and past romantic bays. Colorful flowers accompany your bike tour through one of the sunniest places in Europe! The highlight of the round trip is the beautiful harbor town of Veli Lošinj and back. Your ship will be waiting for you with lunch on board. The afternoon is free for you to explore this charming village. Alternatively, take a walk to the Mediterranean scented garden. Dinner in Mali Lošinj and overnight stay.
Today, you won't be traveling to the island of Cres by boat, but by bike. Both islands are connected by a bridge. You'll cycle from your ship to Osor, where you'll cross the swing bridge to the island of Cres. Your destination is the picturesque town of Cres. Cres is surrounded by beautiful beaches, whose azure waters are reminiscent of the Caribbean. Lunch will be served on board, after which you will have the afternoon free to explore, for example by cycling to one of the beaches in the area. You will spend the night in the picturesque harbor of Cres, where numerous restaurants invite you to linger.
The last stage of your Boat and Bike in Croatia consists of a round trip from Cres town to the village of Predošćica. There is a viewpoint there where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Adriatic Sea and the islands of Croatia. Lunch will be served on board in Cres, after which the bikes will be loaded back onto the boat. You will then head for a bay in the north of the island. Take advantage of the last opportunity to swim before you set course for Rijeka.
Your vacation by bike and boat in Croatia unfortunately comes to an end after breakfast. Enjoy a last ice cream in the port of Rijeka and take a few farewell photos of the ship that has accompanied you throughout your vacation before you start your individual journey home. Disembarkation by 09.00 am. If you would like to extend your stay in the Kvarner Bay, please contact us.
