Today we're off to Abenra. The weather left nothing to be desired, so we took the route to Abenra along the Flensburg Fjord. We made our first stop at the border (wooden bridge) with Denmark. We then headed cross-country towards Kollund. Good thing we had e-bikes. We then had about 10 kilometers of gravel road, which required a lot of attention! Check in at the Hotel Europa.

Start to Odense. The weather is still very good, not too hot, but windy. Unfortunately we didn't get to the lighthouse (Stribfyr) in Strib. Private ground and a building site. Once in Odense, it's worth taking a coffee break by the water. The Hotel Cromwell H.C. Andersen is centrally located in the old town center.
Today’s journey takes us to Svendborg. Be sure to allow plenty of time for Egeskov Castle – the admission fee isn’t exactly cheap. It’s in a lovely setting and there’s something for visitors of all ages to discover. We’ll be staying at the Hotel Christiansminde until 24 May.

Bad weather with storms and rain! We were able to postpone our trip to Aero to 23.05.25 without any problems. In the morning we explored the town and bought more rain gear. We took a break in the afternoon.
We’re taking the ferry to Aero. The weather is mostly fine and we’re exploring the southern part of the island. It’s a good thing we’ve brought our rain gear. There’s some delicious ice cream at the harbour. Note: As it’s not too busy at this time of year, you can catch the ferry at any scheduled time.

Today we're heading straight to Faaborg. It's a bit mountainous. To make matters worse, we got a bit lost, which isn't particularly difficult. The route signs are usually a bit scarce or overgrown. Check in at the Hotel Faaborg Fjord. A golf hotel located just outside the town
In the rain, we take the shortest route to Sønderborg. If you’ve booked it, you can easily catch the ferry from Bojden earlier than scheduled. Soaking wet, we wanted to check in early at the Steigenberger Alsik hotel. Unfortunately, this wasn’t possible – but it was a good thing our luggage was already there.

It's a very nice bike tour with lots to see, depending on your interests. We really liked the fact that the bikes could always be stored and the luggage was already there on arrival! The hotels were good across the board. The food in Denmark is considerably more expensive than in Germany. There are only a few opportunities to stop off somewhere on the cycle tour. If you know this, you can plan your meals accordingly. No problem with the extensive breakfast in the hotels!
