This tour takes you from Lake Geneva to Lyon along the Rhône. Past mighty mountains, gentle hills and sun-drenched vineyards, you will cycle through some of the most beautiful villages in France until you reach the capital of delicacies. Culture won't be neglected due to the many historical buildings, some of which originate from Roman times, and beautiful historical town centres, several of which, like Lyon, are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Despite several small inclines this journey along the Rhône cycle path is suitable for beginners.

Day 1: Individual arrival in Geneva
Geneva, beautifully located at the southern end of Lake Geneva, greets its visitors with the famous water fountain Jet d`Eau as well as a historical city centre. Immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan city life, where you can find art in every corner. Geneva is the seat of many international organisations and corporations and half the population is from all over the world. This gives the city an unmistakable flair.
Day 2: Geneva - Seyssel, approx. 60 km
This leg of the tour follows the Rhône and you will cycle between the Alps and the French Jura Mountains. You cross a mountain range by cycling through a very narrow valley in the Défilé de l`Écluse. The view of the Savoy Alps and the Mont Blanc will enchant you again and again. Today´s destination Seyssel is characterized by two suspension bridges, which connect the pretty houses to the right and the left of the Rhône.
Day 3: Seyssel - Champagneux, approx. 60 km
The cycle tour will take you through the Savoy Alps, steeped in history as ancestral homeland of the Italian kings and is known for its good wines. Chanaz has a pretty historical town centre originating from the 15th and 16th century. You can taste excellent wines everywhere, before reaching today´s destination.
Day 4: Excursion to Rochefort, approx. 25 km
Today embark on an excursion to the panoramic plateau of Rochefort. Passing lush orchards and the imposing Château de Mandrin, this bike ride promises a unique scenic backdrop. Once back in Champagneux, you can end the day at leisure on the hotel's sun terrace.
Day 5: Champagneux - Pérouges / Meximieux, approx. 70 km
Today´s leg of the tour is relaxed – you will cycle along quiet paths off the beaten track to the harbour of Briord. From there you will take narrow paths along the river to Pérouges, where you will spend the night. This village is said to be one of the most beautiful in France, due to its dreamy historical village centre.
Day 6: Excursion to Villars-les-Dombes, approx. 60 km
You will leave the Rhône on today's bike tour for an excursion through the Dombes pond landscape. The subsoil of the region consists of impermeable clay, which has been used for centuries for fish farming. Especially carp, pike and tench are bred in the estimated 1000 fish ponds. In Villars-les-Dombes you can observe more than 3000 birds from all over the world in parc des oiseaux (admission fee not incl.) before returning to Meximieux or Pérouges.
Day 7: Pérouges - Lyon, approx. 50 km
Over a ridgeway track and on flat cycle paths your tour will take you straight to Lyon. The trade of the silk weavers and the following richness of the city can still be seen in the historical city centre, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Spoil yourself in the capital of culinary delicacies and enjoy your last day at the Rhône.
