Travel report: Our Lake Constance bike tour in May 2025
We took the train from Schleswig-Holstein towards Constance to explore Lake Constance and the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen! We started in Constance-Litzelstetten, from where we were supposed to go to Reichenau! Unfortunately, there had been no rain in recent weeks, so the boat trips on the Rhine were canceled and we covered the entire route to Schaffhausen by bike! In Stein am Rhein we made a stopover in the beautiful old town with its impressive façade paintings and enjoyed some delicious cake and coffee!

On day 2, we visited the Rhine Falls from Schaffhausen and enjoyed the fantastic view of the Rhine Falls from the boat! It was a spectacular ride through the waves and the roar of the water! Back in Schaffhausen we got on the train to Radolfzell! A good alternative to the boat! We arrived in Überlingen in a good mood! After yesterday, where we stayed in a plush, very nice hotel, the bed & breakfast Rotes Haus, like the Ko'Ono in Konstanz-Litzelstetten, is very modern!

Neuhausen am Rheinfall
We had another delicious breakfast and a day at the museum! The Pfahlbauten in Unteruhldingen and the Auto & Traktor Museum! Both highly recommended! In Friedrichshafen an inn with very tasty regional food awaits us: Maultaschen, Käsespätzle and potato salad! We fish heads don't know that in this combination! In the morning we visit the Zeppelin Museum! To our delight, we see the Zeppelin flying over the lake over the next few days! Off we go to the beautiful town of Lindau! Our cool hotel with terrace and pool in front of the rooms delights us, the breakfast is lovingly prepared!

Unteruhldingen Pfahlbautenmuseum
Well-fed, we head to the Prinz Fine Distillery in Hörbranz, where we have to exercise some restraint during the tasting! Off we go through Austria! We make a stop at the Pfänder and take the cable car up the mountain! It’s amazing! We country folk can’t get enough of the snow-capped peaks.
We continue along the foot of the mountains through the beautiful countryside to Rorschach! On the hotel’s lush rooftop terrace, we have Swiss cake and coffee brought to us! In glorious weather, we enjoy the view of the lake!
