Between the Golden City of Prague and Dresden, nicknamed the Florence of the Elbe, you cycle along the Elbe Cycle Route through the rural Bohemian hills and the bizarre formations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. First you follow the Vltava from Prague to Mělník, where the Czech Republic's longest river flows into the Elbe. The atmosphere in the vibrant and culturally historic cities at the beginning and end of your trip forms the ideal contrast to your cycle tour, which takes you through impressive landscapes and to numerous baroque towns and castles. The cycle tour along the Elbe from Prague to Dresden could not be more varied.

Day 3: Prague – Mělník, approx. 55 km + Boat trip

Today you follow the Vltava River, once the inspiration for composer Smetana. Leaving the sights of Prague behind, you cycle past baroque Troja Castle and through peaceful floodplains. In Veltrusy, enjoy a stroll through the elegant castle park before a short ferry ride (not included) carries you to the opposite bank. Your route then passes quiet villages and vineyards en route to Mělník. Perched above the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe, the town’s castle, old town, and vineyards create a picturesque scene – from the castle hill, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the rivers and surrounding landscape.
