Day 1: Individual arrival in Metz

Welcome to the Moselle! Our bike tour from Metz to Coblenz starts in the northeast of France. We recommend an early arrival in Metz. The capital of Lorraine looks back on a city history of more than 3000 years. In the old town you can expect many historical buildings and numerous churches. Especially the cathedral Saint-Étienne stands out. Visit one of the lively cafés or enjoy contemporary art at the Centre Pompidou-Metz.

Day 2: Metz – Perl, approx. 65 km

The first stage of your bike tour from Metz to Coblenz takes you along the French Moselle into the border triangle of Germany, France and Luxembourg. On the way, a detour to Uckange is worthwhile. The disused blast furnace park Parc du Haute-Fourneau U4 provides insights into the former iron and steel production that was widespread in the region. With your stage destination Perl, you reach the only wine-growing community in the Saarland. During a visit to the reconstructed Villa Borg you will walk in the footsteps of the Romans and let yourself be taken into their everyday life.

Day 3: Perl – Trittenheim, approx. 90 km

The Moselle marks the border between Germany and Luxembourg as far as Wasserbillig. You follow the Moselle Cycle Path along the vineyard-lined Moselle and reach the Roman city of Treves via Konz. Treat yourself to a longer break, as Germany's oldest city has a lot to offer. The city's landmark is the Porta Nigra. Or how about a visit to the Imperial Baths and the Karl Marx House? Continue on to the wine town of Trittenheim. Enjoy a Riesling from the famous vineyard Apotheke at the end of the day.

Day 4: Trittenheim – Zell, approx. 70 km

Your bike tour from Metz to Coblenz will take you today through the most famous wine villages on the Moselle. First, you will reach Neumagen-Dhron. In the center of Germany's oldest wine-growing community, you'll find the Neumagen Wine Ship, whose floatable replica is anchored on the banks of the Moselle. A stone's throw away is Piesport. With the reconstructed winepress there, the Romans already processed wine. In the half-timbered town of Bernkastel-Kues, a short stroll through the cobblestone streets of the old town is worthwhile before you reach Zell via Traben-Trarbach - with more than four million vines, one of the largest wine-growing towns in Germany.

Day 5: Zell – Coblenz, approx. 90 km

You leave Zell and follow the meanders of the Moselle to Cochem. Even from a distance, the over 1000-year-old Cochem Imperial Castle will catch your eye. Also in Treis-Karden, the Moseldom awaits you, another highlight on your bike tour from Metz to Coblenz. A medieval gem is located a bit off the Moselle: the Eltz Castle. With its incomparable architecture, it is one of the most beautiful castles in Germany. In your destination Coblenz, pay a visit to the Deutsches Eck and Ehrenbreitenstein Fortress.
