Our bike tour from Treves to Coblenz takes you through the Moselle Valley, which is characterized by vineyards, historic wine-growing villages and remarkable castles. As the oldest wine region in Germany, the area along the Moselle not only produces first-class fruity and sparkling wines, but also offers you optimal conditions to spend a relaxing and eventful cycling vacation thanks to the well-developed and almost gradient-free Moselle cycle path. Already more than 2000 years ago, the Romans recognized the excellent location and the beautiful scenery of the Moselle. In addition to ancient buildings, they left behind a multitude of winepresses that testify to their professional winegrowing. Our bike tour from Treves to Coblenz starts in the oldest German city. You will get to know the wine ship community of Neumagen-Dhron, the picturesque half-timbered town of Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach, which is characterized by Art Nouveau villas. Walk in the footsteps of chivalry at the sublime Cochem Imperial Castle and the fairytale Eltz Castle before reaching your destination of Coblenz. Along the way, get to know countless wineries and treat yourself to a glass of wine or two. Our bike tour from Treves to Coblenz is rounded off with a boat trip on the Rhine from Coblenz to St. Goarshausen to the Loreley Rock.
Another special feature of the trip: You will stay in selected and exclusive accommodations, which correspond to a level of 4 stars.
Welcome to the Moselle! Your bike tour from Treves to Coblenz begins in Treves. Founded more than 2000 years ago, the Roman heritage of Germany's oldest city can be felt around every corner. A special testimony to the Roman era is the Porta Nigra, the Black Gate. Treves' landmark is the ideal starting point for an extended exploration of the city. Visit the Imperial Baths (included), the Roman Bridge, the Treves Cathedral and get insights into the life and work of probably the most famous Treves man in the Karl Marx House.

The first stage of your bike tour from Treves to Coblenz takes you along the Moselle, which winds through its valley framed by vineyards. A stopover is worthwhile in Neumagen-Dhron. Germany's oldest wine village once served the Romans as the site of a fort and as a landing stage for ships. The Neumagen Wine Ship, whose wooden replica lies at anchor in the harbor, bears witness to this. Just a stone's throw away is Piesport, the largest wine-growing community on the Moselle. Visit the Roman winepress and taste a sparkling Riesling from the famous Piesporter Goldtröpfchen vineyard. Passing the Moselloreley, a steep rock massif, you will reach Mülheim after a few kilometers.
The first highlight of your cycling day today is the half-timbered town of Bernkastel-Kues. Situated at the foot of steep vineyards, the old town presents itself with colorful houses, small alleys and castle-like wine yards. Above the town is the ruined castle of Landshut. From the keep you have a beautiful view over the Moselle valley. Via Kröv, known for its Kröver Nacktarsch vineyard, you will reach Traben-Trarbach. Thanks to many half-timbered buildings and charming Art Nouveau villas, the wine trading town has one of the most beautiful riverside promenades on the Moselle.
First you cycle to Zell. Situated on the narrowest loop of the Moselle, the small town has over four million vines and is one of the largest wine-growing communities on the Moselle after Piesport. The world-renowned Schwarze Katz vineyard produces excellent Rieslings that can be sampled on site. Moving on. Cochem's Reichsburg Castle will catch your eye from afar. The impressive landmark of the city looks back on a history of over 1000 years. High up is also the Cochem chairlift, which takes you to the vantage point Pinnerkreuz. Magnificent views guaranteed!
You cycle relaxed along the Moselle and reach Treis-Karden. The Moseldom dominates the townscape of the village, which lies on both sides of the Moselle. It is one of the most impressive churches on the Lower Moselle. Another highlight on this stage of your bike tour from Treves to Coblenz awaits you a little away from the river: Eltz Castle. With its towers and oriels, it is one of the most beautiful castles in Germany. Back on the Moselle Cycle Path, you will reach Coblenz. Take an evening stroll to the famous German Corner. There the Moselle flows into the Rhine.
After breakfast, you will travel by boat on the Rhine to St. Goarshausen. From the pretty old town of the village it is only a stone's throw to the Loreley. The slate rock, which is over 130 meters high, is located at one of the narrowest points of the Middle Rhine Valley. The rock became famous through the legend of the beautiful virgin Loreley, who lured passing boatmen to their doom with her song. Return to Coblenz by bike via Boppard. Visit the fortress Ehrenbreitenstein, which you reach floating by cable car over the Rhine.
