Day 1: Individual arrival in Girona

A warm welcome to Girona! Upon your arrival in this charming city, you can head directly to your hotel to check in. Once settled, take the opportunity to explore Girona, which is rich in history and culture. Girona is particularly known for its beautifully preserved Jewish Quarter, one of the finest in the world. Don’t miss the impressive Cathedral and a scenic walk along the medieval walls, offering stunning panoramic views of the city.

Day 2: Girona - Sant Feliu de Guíxols, approx. 40 km

The first day of your gourmet cycling tour in Catalonia takes you along the “El Carrilet” greenway, a scenic route passing through the charming towns of Quart, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, and Santa Cristina d’Aro, all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. Just outside Girona, the path runs alongside the Onyar River, offering one of the region's most iconic and photographed views: the colorful houses lining the riverbank. Throughout the journey, the Gavarres Massif provides a constant natural backdrop. This forested mountain range, dominated by oak trees, plays a key role in the area’s cork production and adds a rich, green presence to the landscape.

Day 3: Sant Feliu de Guíxols - Calella de Palafrugell, approx. 30 km

The second stage heads north along the Mediterranean coastline, offering a beautiful mix of seaside vistas and cultural highlights. You will ride through the bustling fishing port of Palamós, renowned for its delicious red prawns. Just a few kilometers beyond Palamós, you will pass the unspoiled cove of Platja de Castell, a pristine beach surrounded by nature. In the final stretch, the route follows the "Ruta del Tren Petit," a former railway line now connecting Palamós with Palafrugell. Day 4: Calella de Palafrugell - Torroella de Montgrí, approx. 35 km

Day 5: Torroella de Montgrí - Castelló d'Empúries, approx. 40 km

The route heads north, crossing the Montgrí Massif and entering the Empordà region. Along the wide Bay of Roses, you’ll discover endless sandy beaches and charming coastal scenery. Don’t miss the medieval village of Sant Martí d’Empúries and the nearby archaeological site of Empúries, where impressive Greek and Roman ruins tell stories of the past. Cycling through the protected Aiguamolls del Empordà, alive with birdlife and biodiversity, the stage continues to Castelló d’Empúries. Day 6: Round tour Castelló d'Empúries, approx. 40 km

The route then heads back inland through a tranquil landscape, passing renowned wineries around Vilajuïga and Pau. Day 7: Castellló d'Empúries - Figueres, approx. 45 km

The final stage of your gourmet cycling tour in Catalonia begins in Peralada, the heart of the Empordà wine region. Take time to explore its historic center and impressive castle before cycling through the upper vineyard landscapes and the charming villages of Garriguella, Vilamaniscle and Rabós, known for their olive groves and traditional scenery.
An optional highlight is a stop at the renowned La Vinyeta winery, perfect for a relaxed picnic and tasting of local wines and artisanal products. The day ends with a long, scenic descent into Figueres, home to the iconic Dalí Theatre-Museum.
 

Day 8: Individual departure

Your cycling vacation in Catalonia ends after breakfast. We are happy to extend your vacation in Girona with an additional night.
