Day 1: Individual arrival in Karlovy Vary

Welcome to Karlovy Vary! The city, world-famous for its thermal springs and magnificent colonnades, welcomes you with historical flair. Stroll through the elegant Old Town, taste the legendary healing water from the ornate drinking halls or try the famous Karlovy Vary wafers. The market square, the Grandhotel Pupp and the mill fountain colonnade are just some of the highlights you can marvel at today. End the evening with a glass of Becherovka, the traditional Czech liqueur, before you start your cycling holidays in the Bohemian spa triangle tomorrow.

Day 2: Excursion to the Ore Mountains / Krušné Hory, approx. 30 – 70 km

Your first day of cycling takes you to the Ore Mountains, a region with a rich mining history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You first take a short train ride up into the picturesque hilly landscape before exploring the surroundings on two wheels. The route offers impressive panoramic views and takes you past the historic Mauritius silver mine. A highlight of the day is Jáchymov - once an important silver town, now famous for its radium healing springs. After a relaxing descent towards Karlovy Vary, you can stop off at a traditional Ore Mountains restaurant and enjoy regional specialties.

Day 3: Karlovy Vary – Ohře – Františkovy Lázně, approx. 60 km

Today you cycle along the River Ohře through the Slavkovský les nature reserve and pass the impressive Svatošské skály rock formations. Your cycling holidays in the Bohemian spa triangle takes you to Loket, a medieval town with an imposing castle. The route continues to Sokolov, where the castle and historic town center are well worth a visit. After a short stop at the Kynšperk brewery or Mostov Castle, you finally reach Františkovy Lázně. There you can relax in the healing thermal springs and enjoy the charm of the 19th century.

Day 4: Round tour through the Františkovy Lázně spa and the Iron Curtain, approx. 15 – 60 km

This day offers you a varied round tour through the surrounding area of Františkovy Lázně. Depending on the length of the route you choose, you can explore the impressive moorland landscapes of the Soos nature reserve or cycle along the former border of the Iron Curtain in the footsteps of the past. The route leads past numerous castles and palaces, which have been preserved as silent witnesses to the eventful history of this region. If you prefer to relax instead, you can enjoy the day in Františkovy Lázně and experience the healing thermal springs and soothing spa treatments.

Day 5: Františkovy Lázně – Mariánské Lázně, approx. 50 km

Today you cycle via Cheb, a historic gateway between the Holy Roman Empire and Bohemia. On the way, you will visit the Marien Loretto pilgrimage church and Stary Hroznatov Castle. Another highlight is Kynžvart Castle, which was built by Prince Metternich and invites you to take a coffee break. In the afternoon you reach Mariánské Lázně, famous for its elegant colonnades and healing springs. Enjoy the charming atmosphere and relax in the soothing thermal baths – a perfect end to your cycling holidays in the Bohemian spa triangle.

Day 6: Excursion to Bečov nad Teplou, approx. 55 km

In the morning, you start with a climb – or use the ski lift. At the top, you cycle through the gentle hilly landscape to the 12th century Teplá Monastery, known for its monastery church and library with over 80,000 historical books. Continue through the forests of the Slavkovský Forest to Bečov nad Teplou. There you will visit Bečov Castle with its unique reliquary of St. Maurus, one of the most important medieval works of art. Afterwards, you can either return to Mariánské Lázně by train or bike.

Day 7: Individual departure

After a relaxing week full of nature, culture and relaxation, your cycling holidays in the Bohemian spa triangle comes to an end. You can start your journey home individually or extend your stay to enjoy the beneficial healing springs a little longer.

Not included is the city or visitor's tax (if payable).

Applies to accommodation in a room with two full-paying adults.

Due to the more demanding stages, we recommend this trip only for young people with good stamina.
