You will cycle through Lahemaa National Park, one of the last untouched regions on the Baltic Sea, and enjoy the idyllic lake landscape of Otepää, also known as Estonian Switzerland. On your Baltic States bike tour you will also discover the charming Gauja Valley, the impressive Curonian Lagoon, and the nature-rich Memel Delta. Welcome to Estonia's lively capital Tallinn – the ideal starting point for your Baltic States cycle tour! After your individual arrival and check-in at the hotel, you will receive your comprehensive information package with maps and detailed tour descriptions. In the evening, discover the charming old town of Tallinn with its medieval streets and impressive buildings on a guided city tour.
After a short transfer to Lahemaa National Park, the oldest and one of the largest national parks in Estonia, your first bike tour begins. You will cycle through dense forests, past idyllic moorlands and historic manor houses, listen to the birds singing and enjoy the unspoiled nature. Your destination for the day is the charming village of Sagadi.
A morning transfer takes you to Mustvee, on the shores of Lake Peipus. This is one of the largest lakes in Europe and stretches between Estonia and Russia. On your bike tour along the shore, you will pass small fishing villages and enjoy the idyllic landscape and the special atmosphere of this unique region. In the afternoon, you will continue to the university town of Tartu, known for its lively atmosphere and historical sights.
A short transfer will take you to the town of Otepää, where today's stage of your Baltic States cycle tour begins. You will cycle to Sangaste with its impressive 19th-century castle. This is followed by a transfer to Latvia. On the way, you will stop in Cēsis to explore the charming medieval old town. Not far from your overnight accommodation in Sigulda, you can visit Turaida Castle.
Today's stage takes you through the fascinating Gauja National Park, which delights visitors with its unspoiled nature and impressive landscapes. The coastal town of Saulkrasti brings you to the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga. A transfer takes you to Riga, the capital of Latvia. There you can look forward to an exciting guided tour of the city.
Explore Riga on your own with a stroll through the city. Discover both the magnificent Art Nouveau architecture and the lively old town before cycling along the Baltic Sea to Jūrmala on the bike path. The popular seaside resort attracts visitors with its endless white sandy beaches, healing mud, and mineral water springs. Enjoy relaxing breaks for swimming before taking the local train (not included) back to Riga in the evening, which takes only about 30 minutes.
Take a minibus to the Lithuanian coast and make an unforgettable stop at the mystical Hill of Crosses – an impressive site with thousands of crosses on two small hills. Your Baltic States cycle tour continues along the coast and through the Baltic resort of Palanga to Klaipėda, Lithuania's oldest port city. The city's diverse past continues to shape its appearance today.
After a short ferry ride (not included) to the Curonian Lagoon – a narrow strip of sand – you will cycle along a paved cycle path through impressive dune landscapes and fragrant pine forests. On the way, you will stop at Hexenberg, where you can admire artistic carvings from Lithuanian mythology and observe a colony of cormorants and herons. Not far from your destination for the day, Nida, is the Parnidis Dune, one of the highest shifting dunes in Europe.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing boat trip across the Curonian Lagoon to the mainland, taking in the view of the wonderful sand dunes of the Curonian Lagoon. Continue by bike to the famous Ventė Bird Observatory, where you can visit the historic bird station and the 19th-century lighthouse. Then cycle through the picturesque Memel Delta, known for its unspoiled nature and rich bird life. In the afternoon, a transfer will take you to your destination, Kaunas, the second-largest city in Lithuania.
After a transfer to the Lithuanian Lake District, you will cycle through a gently rolling landscape and reach Trakai, famous for its imposing and very impressive 14th-century water castle, which is picturesquely situated on Lake Galve. The journey continues with a transfer to the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Get to know the city, which impresses with numerous buildings from different eras, on a guided tour.
After breakfast, your Baltic States cycle tour comes to an end. We are happy to extend your stay in Tallinn or Vilnius with an additional night.
