Active bike tour through the Allgäu Region

Welcome to your active bike tour through the Allgäu Region. Travel to Kressbronn early. This gives you the opportunity to stroll through the quiet holiday resort or take a refreshing dip in the lake. Here we go on the first stage of your active bike tour through the Allgäu Region. First you cycle leisurely along the lakeshore to Lindau. Stroll through the old town on an island and visit the town's landmark – the Lion Monument. You leave Lake Constance and cycle into the enchanting Allgäu. A few metres in altitude past lush green meadows and grazing cows accompany you on your way to Oberstaufen. Learn more about the production of the delicious mountain cheese in a show dairy (not included). Of course you can also taste it.

Leave your bike in the hotel and spend a wonderful day in the Allgäu. With the Oberstaufen Card included in the tour price, you enjoy numerous benefits. Take the Hochgratbahn up to 1800 metres to Oberstaufen's local mountain. Experience a speedy ride on the summer toboggan run or relax with a stay at the Aquaria adventure pool. This stage of your active bike tour through the Allgäu Region begins on flat paths through the valley of the Konstanzer Aach. You cycle past the lake Großer Alpsee to Immenstadt. Strengthen yourself in a café in the historic town centre. Afterwards, you will have to climb a few metres before you reach the highest point of the tour at Oy-Mittelberg. With magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, you ride to Füssen. From afar you can see Neuschwanstein Castle, built high on a mountain.

Along lake Forggensee, Germany's largest reservoir, you first cycle through the beautiful natural landscape of the Allgäu again. From Marktoberdorf, the route leads through the Kempten forest. A few metres of altitude await you again. Once you arrive in Kempten, the day's efforts are almost forgotten. Lively and full of history, the lively Roman town welcomes you. Visit the state rooms of the residence before indulging in local delicacies in one of the numerous rustic inns.

On a disused railway line you cycle up to the European watershed between the Rhine and the Danube. From here, you cycle downhill for most of the last stage of your avtive Allgäu bike tour. Cycle leisurely through Isny, a town with medieval roots and historic walls. Say hello to the traditional Wangen with its picturesque old town as you pass, before you cross Germany's southernmost hop-growing region. On idyllic paths with numerous orchards, you will reach your destination of Kressbronn on beautiful Lake Constance.
