Day 1: Individual arrival in Constance / Kreuzlingen
You start your tour in Constance, Lake Constance’s biggest town. 600 years ago this was where the Council of Constance took place, the only council to elect a pope that was held north of the Alps. The Rhine leaves Lake Constance here: 0 kilometres on its way to the North Sea. Only a few minutes by foot from the medieval town centre is the Swiss town of Kreuzlingen with its lively harbour.
Day 2: Constance – Singen am Hohentwiel, approx. 70 km / 1350 m altitude difference
Today you will cycle along the Swiss side of the Seerücken high above the Lake and on to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein. Cycling along forest paths and tracks you will come to Hohenklingen Castle and on to the Schienerberg, where beautiful single-trails along the Swiss-German border await you. Enjoy the magical view of the Lower Lake, Reichenau Island and the landscape of the Swiss Canton of Thurgau.
Day 3: Singen am Hohentwiel – Radolfzell, approx. 60 km / 1050 m altitude difference
Today you will embark on a tour of the volcanic landscape of the Hegau region. The distinctive peaks of the Hohenkrähen, Mägdeberg and Hohenstoffeln await you. You will then scale the heights of the Bodanrück and you can stop off for a cooling dip in the waters of the Mindelsee Lake if the weather permits. You can round off your day with a relaxing evening on the lakeshore in Radolfzell.
Day 4: Radolfzell – Meersburg, approx. 65 km / 1050 m altitude difference
After breakfast you will once more cycle over the Bodanrück and reach the Überlinger See after a steep descent. From Ludwigshafen on the route goes uphill once more and through forests where you will have breathtaking views over the Lake, the Bodanrück and the Alps. You will then proceed downhill towards Überlingen, where you can relax on the lakeside promenade before continuing on through the hilly hinterland towards Meersburg.
Day 5: Meersburg – Friedrichshafen – Constance, approx. 65 km, 1150 m altitude difference + boat trip
Your last stage leads you through the Upper Swabian hinterland with three ascents to the Linzgauberg Mountains of Heiligenberg, Höchsten and Gehrenberg. Salem Castle is a highlight along the route along with the view of the Lake and the Alps. In the trade fair town of Friedrichshafen you will board the catamaran which will take you back to Constance.
Day 6: Individual departure or extended stay
After breakfast your Lake Constance mountain bike tour comes to an end and you will begin your journey home. We would also be more than happy to extend your stay by the Lake.
