Day 2: Round trip Cours-les Barres, approx. 50 km

The first leg of the cycle trip takes you to Apremont, with its castle and magnificent gardens. Next, you cycle on to Nevers, which invites you to make a stop to see its sights, such as the square tower including the Barbacane (Port du Croux), the city tower, which is part of the medieval fortification and numerous town houses, before returning to the boat.

Day 3: Cours-les Barres – Beffes (by boat), Beffes – Ménétréol, approx. 55 km

First of all you can sit back and enjoy the boat trip to Beffes. Next, you get back on to your bike and cycle to the old Roman town, La Charité-sur-Loire. Standing on the stone bridge, which was built in the 16th century, you will get a fascinating view over the town. The cycle tour continues past the famous vineyards of the PouillyFumé wines taking you to the village of Ménétréol, at the foot of the Sancerrevineyards, where you return to the boat.

Day 4: Ménétréol – Sancerre (by boat), Sancerre – Beaulieu, approx. 50 km

You start the day with a boat trip to the pretty village of Sancerre, which has been a wine-producing area for 2000 years. Here you get back on your bikes. The picturesque cycle route continues past the Sancerre vineyards, through many wine villages, before you finally reach your destination in Beaulieu.

Day 5: Beaulieu – St. Brisson, approx. 40 km, St. Brisson – Briare (by boat)

Today, you cycle along the small, historic locks of Châtillon-sur-Loire, continuing on to the canal bridge that crosses the Loire. Enjoy the wonderful fresh air in the woods of St. Brisson, before you  return to the boat. In the evening, the journey by boat takes you over the magnificent aqueduct, which has been in existence since the 19th century. It is 662 metres in length and crosses the Loire. This is something to experience before arriving in Briare.

Day 6: Briare ‒ Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses, approx. 45 km

Spend the morning in a more relaxed way, wandering through Briare. The cycle path then takes you to the Pont Chevron castle, which is beautifully situated on the banks of a lake. Via Ouzouer-sur-Trézée you cycle on through an area rich with small lakes, past Bléneau castle to Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses with its 7 historic locks.
